The legal profession could be forgiven for thinking that the turmoil surrounding insurance would cease (at least in 2014) but unfortunately it managed to reach new heights this year. The SRA held two ‘eleventh hour’ consultations, following which some changes were proposed to the Minimum Terms & Conditions. Those changes were then challenged and will not feature this year (it seems). These consultations brought significant, and unnecessary, uncertainty to the profession and the insurance market.

Mills & Reeve will run a seminar on the proposed future changes, what they may mean to your firms, and what the longer term implications may be with regard to other options being mooted. We will also take a canter through the very latest developments and caselaw affecting law firms and their insurers. The speakers will be Angus Turner, Bharti Patel, Sarah Trendell-Smyth and Lesley-Ann Hamlyn.

Angus is a partner with Mills & Reeve LLP and has acted for the profession for over 20 years, defending professional negligence claims. Bharti, Sarah and Lesley-Ann are senior lawyers in the Birmingham team, and they also specialise in representing law firms and their insurers.
