Effective Employment Tribunal Advocacy – the judicial perspective and some tips from an advocate

This session is in two parts:

Part 1: This is a unique opportunity for employment law practitioners who appear in the tribunal to get a judicial view of what is considered by an Employment Judge to be effective advocacy. Employment Judge Colin Goodierwill give his tips on some “do’s and don’ts” and in particular discuss some common errors and poor advocacy practice before the Tribunals. His considerable experience will provide a view from the bench which is not readily available to most lawyers.

Part 2: Mugni Islam-Choudhury is an employment law barrister at No5 Chambers. Mugni has nearly two decades of experience as an advocate in the Employment Tribunal, having been at the Bar and also in private practice as Head of Employment Advocacy in Eversheds, where his responsibilities included training junior solicitors to be effective advocates. He will talk about best practice for advocates to maximise success at the Tribunal.

This training session will be relevant to all solicitors and barristers who litigate and/or appear in Employment Tribunals, or to those who provide training in best practice.
