Many partners, fee-earners and legal support staff feel underprepared to deal with the growing threat of cybercrime. Despite law firms adopting greater technology and implementing stricter cyber security policies – lawyers often lack confidence in their own ability to spot the threats and stay secure. And, the uncomfortable truth for lawyers is that they are likely to be investigated in the event of a breach, potentially putting their position in jeopardy.

As well as the threat of cybercrime, common concerns include sending sensitive data via email, unprotected Wi-Fi networks, using online cloud storage and appropriate password management. Following basic cyber security best practice can protect both lawyers, and the wider firm from the risk of data breach and cyber-attack.

This event will focus on your key liabilities when it comes to cyber security, along with simple, practical advice to help lawyers manage their risks. We’ll explore the threat of cybercrime, as well as the risks of poor information governance and impact of the GDPR.
