Managing Career Breaks – Keeping Your Career On Track

Be it to have a family, go travelling, undertake voluntary work or care for someone at home, taking a career break is a common occurrence. However, despite that we tend not to give any consideration to how we will keep our careers on track and in that context this seminar will consider and offer practical advice on the following:

Personal & Business Implications – both to you as individuals and to the organizations you work for, ensuring that having a break does not derail your career.

Marketing – encourage you to think about how you might be viewed in the market place or by your employer, and how to manage this. How to incorporate career breaks into your cv.

Managing Departure and Return – How to stay in touch whilst you are away. Ensuring effective conversations to manage expectations of colleagues etc, formulate a plan that can be put into action once you are ready to return, give you a realistic idea as to how long it can take to settle back in – tips for doing so.

This seminar is suitable both for those who wish to stay within their organization and those who might be ultimately looking for a change in direction.
