HHJ David Worster
HHJ Worster was called to the Bar in 1980 and practised in Birmingham from 7, Fountain Court and then from St Philips Chambers. Much of his work was in the Birmingham Mercantile and Chancery Courts. He was a member of the AG’s Panel from 1995–2007. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2001, a Circuit Judge in 2008 and a Senior Circuit Judge in 2017. He is the designated Mercantile Judge for Birmingham. He is authorised to sit as a Judge of the High Court in the Chancery and Queen’s Bench Divisions, the Mercantile Court and the Administrative Court. He is assigned as a Judge of the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber. He is a Course Director for the Judicial College Civil training courses, and a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn.
Mark Surguy
Mark has over 25 years’ private practice experience of advising and representing companies, institutions and individuals in domestic and international commercial litigation, fraud and insolvency cases across multiple sectors. His practice encompasses commercial misconduct, corporate investigations, freezing and search orders, asset tracing and other remedies arising out of suspected fraud, cyber–fraud and civil and criminal wrongdoing. Mark has deep expertise in and knowledge of the workings of computer forensics, digital evidence, data protection and cross–border e–Discovery, and uses leading–edge technology to assist in fact–finding. He specialises in designing pragmatic solutions to novel and complicated problems.
Emma Edhem
Emma Edhem is a barrister of more than 20 years’ standing. She has been based in Castle Baynard ward for the last eight years, originally at Carmelite Chambers in Carmelite Street and then at No.5 Chambers in Salisbury Court, just off Fleet Street. Emma’s main areas of practice include international arbitration, domestic and cross–border commercial disputes, fraud and libel. She has successfully represent-ed several high profile clients in well–publicised cases some globally over the last few years. Emma has recently been re–elected as Chairman of the Turkish British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the first woman to hold the position. She is also a Board Member of the Azerbaijani British Law Association and President of the Turkish British Legal Society. As Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce she has been part of the team supporting the Lord Mayor’s visit to Turkey in 2014, seeing to promote our trade with them and to bring additional work to the UK as a whole and to the City in particular.
Mark Baker
Mark provides law firms with specialist legal expenses, funding and sales solutions for selling legal services. Mark’s skills and knowledge have been built upon experience, initially as an insurance underwriter at Lloyd’s of London, then progressing to specialist sales of bespoke legal costs insurance and funding solutions.
