Project management – making it happen

This session is aimed at accountants who may find themselves either leading projects or providing support for projects.

The talk will examine why most projects of any size do not get delivered on time, or to budget, or to their original specification. By taking a balance between theoretical development structures and a pragmatic approach, the speaker will consider the most suitable project management techniques.

We will also cover the most common failings in project management and give an introduction to those activities which can be undertaken to overcome some of the more common problems.

The various stages of project management will be considered together with hints and tips on how to maximize the effectiveness at each stage.
